Egypt fills the north-eastern corner of Africa and reaches into south-west Asia through the Sinai Peninsula. The Mediterranean lies to the north and the Red Sea to the east, Sudan to the south and Libya to the west, while the Gulf of Aqaba separates it from Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
